I started Studio Deciverse as a fledgling solo developer looking to twist tried and true game concepts with the power of unreal engine 5. with uncompromising dedication to creative freedom, i craft stories with a clear vision and characters with a focused identity in mind.

authentic

Studio Deciverse exists to produce entertainment content to explicitly pursue…

niche audience appeal.

I know it’s hard to do…
take a chance and trust me.
I know what you like.

Because you are my one and only.

creative freedom

  • My brother is backing my project with good vibes and well wishes. On occasion I consult with a few close friends on visuals and ideas. As far as financial investors go, there’s only me. I pay for everything out of pocket and I don’t make very much. If anything I claim to stand for sounds like what you want to see in the indie space, your support is the deciding factor of how quickly it takes off.

  • No company policies or corporate mandates poisoning the well. I’m free to make video games as simple video games. No “anti-” anything, just regular, unassuming games. Supporters are guaranteed to get the product advertised and their input will always matter and be transparently represented and implemented.

  • With every unfolding event, locale revealed and character introduced, the lore of The Deciverse expands. And if you were to ever ask me a question about something in the world that I don’t have the answer to, you have a chance to trigger a lore expansion. Will you be there to make it happen?

player centric

Give the people what they want. When it comes to gaming, it’s that simple.

  • If you buy from Studio Deciverse, you own what you bought. Mod it, stream it, make fan games, fan art, play background music from it in your videos, host tournaments, do a rip-off but do it better, I don’t care… Just have fun and maybe just gimme a shout out? I’d be elated to know that something I created went on to inspire someone else to create.

    Thank you for your custom.

  • If I’m ever lucky enough to actually build a small community around The Deciverse, I will be actively involved in it. Consider becoming a supporter and joining my discord server. Communication with supporters at this level is direct, personal and easy.

  • Once Project V12 is officially in development, I will be seeking to work with a few programmers to design a free mod loader for the games under that project. I’m also enrolled on the route to becoming proficient in python and typescript, which will enable me to build my own mod manager for The Deciverse alone if need be. Please understand that the more I have to do alone, the more time I need.

transparent development

  • Performance is important, if not the most important aspect of a functional game. If it doesn’t run, you can’t play. I am aware of nanite, lumen, megalights and megascans and I understand how the application of these technologies can raise visuals to another level, but I’m also aware of how much it takes to implement these options most optimally as a solo developer.

I am more inclined to remain cautious of what and how much I run on the event tick, generate LODs, use imposter meshes, static mesh object pools and other optimization methods as I learn them rather than over-relying on the easy solution of checking boxes. I’m genuinely curious about how things are done and I wonder if I can somehow pull many of them off. The more games I create, the more I’ll master those things.

  • I use assets to springboard production time, like everyone else. I will eventually learn Blender 3D, Clo3D and Marvelous Designer to create my own as I have a lot of ideas since I dabble in art. But right now, I truly can’t find the time to commit to it given everything I’m taking on solo.

However, after Koakanut x Kraken I will take the time to kitbash, texture swap and otherwise modify each chosen asset in some way seeing as how I’ve recently acquired that skill. Best in the West is going to allow me to focus on polishing my ability to modify skeletal meshes, so while that game will also be made using assets you will definitely be able to tell that I did some custom work to them.

  • Currently, I only use Suno AI Pro inside all limits of the law to produce background music. I would much prefer to work with human beings for all intents and purposes, but for a solo funding this entire project out of pocket, $300 for a set of 3 tracks 1 min long each is currently steep even if standard. It would be great ditch the AI to give people work and help spread the names of musicians and artists while also making connections with other creatives, but I can’t afford to. However, your support could change that fact.

  • My games are cheaper to make, so I’ll keep them cheaper to buy. No need to bleed wallets. Live service games and concepts are unrealistic to consider for me at this time. If players want a cash shop or something, I will consider it but it’s not in the plans for anything right now.

My only money making strategy for now is to present something appealing enough to gather support to make something better.

  • Did you want more Spiderman in Spiderman 2? There are those that wanted more Alan Wake in Alan Wake 2.

Unfortunately I cannot right those wrongs. But I’m creating something from scratch with original characters in a crazy new world with story arcs tailor made to resonate and please the niche audience.

The idea is to use UE5 to create interesting experiences. In the end, my focus will remain primarily on world building, story telling, functional mechanics and polished play, not on mega dense foliage scenes and ultra realistic lighting and shadow. That is not to say I’m any fan of the pixar-lite/stylized Fortnite /Overwatch aesthetic, but that my own style will develop with my progression as I will be able to move away from store assets. However, I use the best options available to me that most closely express my style and intent for now.

twisting tried and true concepts

It’s all been done before.

  • Zombies.

  • Mutants.

  • Robots.

  • Fairies.

  • Ninja.

  • Science Experiments.

  • Aliens

  • Swords.

  • Magic.

  • Super Powers.

  • Paranormal Entities

  • Spiritual Phantoms

  • Crooked plots and intrigue.

  • Philosophical slants.

  • Secret labs…

But how often is it all done within the same universe in a single canon timeline?

for the niche audience.

It’s nothing like old fashioned, but it’s not for the “modern audience.”

Many of us “old heads” are open to new things but our tastes have already been established by the greats that came before the modernized versions of everything we used to love…

I can offer nuanced twists on the tried and true concepts we prefer.
